I began training in counselling in 2003 with a COSCA certificate in counselling skills. Then, having discovered the Human Givens approach to psychotherapy, I decided that this was the approach I wanted to pursue. I was particularly impressed by the way it is based in neurological science, uses a wide range of techniques that have all been proven to work and is very practical, creative and effective.
After attending the HG programme of seminars and workshops. (See http://www.humangivenscollege.com for more information.), I passed my Human Givens diploma with distinction in 2006 and have been working since then out of this approach. When I gained my Post Graduate diploma, I joined the official register of HG therapists in the UK. You can find a list of registered HG therapists on the Human Givens Institute's website: http://www.hgi.org.uk
Over the years I've worked with a wide variety of people and organisations and been privileged to play a part in helping people feel better in themselves - it is a wonderful feeling to see each person blossom more fully into themselves.
I've been working as the in-house therapist/life-coach for Administrate for eight years now (www.getadministrate.com). This is a pioneering tech company who takes the wellbeing of its staff very seriously. I also worked for the tech company Current Health for four years (2018 - 2022) (www.currenthealth.com).
I'm a published poet with two poetry collections and lead occasional creative writing workshops in the community. This work helps to bring a very positive balance to my therapy. I have three grown-up children.
